Removal and installation the fuel pump (Opel Kadett D)

The fuel pump is driven by the camshaft.

Caution! Avoid open flames.


Removal



Removal


Remove the fuel lines.

Unscrew the pump.

Installation



Screw on the pump with a new seal

Tighten the screws to 20 Nm.

Connect the fuel lines.

To check the fuel supply, disconnect the hose going to the carburetor, start the engine and watch the fuel flow out in jerks.

The pressure in the fuel pump should be 19.5-25.5 kPa (0.20-0.26 bar) at 2000 rpm.
