Each carburetor is tested at the factory and adjusted for a specific brand of gasoline. Nothing should change in these adjustments. High fuel consumption, insufficient engine power usually have other causes, in which the driving style and/or conditions often play a decisive role. Without measuring instruments and specialists, usually limited to adjusting the idle speed.
Its precise adjustment is more important than is believed, since it affects the engine speed and responsiveness up to medium speeds. Continuation of engine operation after the ignition is turned off, engine stalling after sudden braking, are often the result of an over-enriched mixture, while pops in the exhaust pipe when changing gears indicate a lean mixture.
