Each carburetor is tested at the factory and adjusted for a specific brand of gasoline. Nothing should be changed in these settings. High fuel consumption, insufficient engine power usually have other causes in which driving style and / or driving conditions often play a decisive role. Without measuring instruments and specialists, they are usually limited to idle speed adjustment.
Its precise adjustment is more important than is believed, as it affects the speed and throttle response of the engine up to medium speeds. Continuing to run the engine after turning off the ignition, stopping the engine after hard braking is often the result of an over-rich mixture, while popping in the exhaust pipe when changing gears indicates a lean mixture.
