Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve (Simtec System) — Checking, Removing and Installing (Opel Vectra A)

Note: Use a new gasket when installing the valve.

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the wire harness and vacuum hose.

3. Mark the valve position to ensure correct installation.

4. Unscrew the three bolts and remove the valve from the dual ignition coil cooling flange.

Installation

5. Clean the valve and flange sealing surfaces.

6. Install the valve with a new gasket, align the marks made before removal (see illustration).
