X22SE and Y22SE engines
Removal
Disconnect the connector from the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube (1).
Disconnect the resonator hose from the air intake tube (1).
Remove the air intake tube (1) and the air filter housing cover (2) as an assembly.
Remove the lower engine compartment protection.
Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.
Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the throttle body.
Disconnect the connector from the throttle position potentiometer (2) located on the throttle assembly.
Disconnect the connector from the idle speed control valve (1) located on the throttle body.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body.
Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.
Installation
Clean the mating surfaces of the throttle body and intake manifold from any remaining old gasket.
Install the throttle body with a new gasket onto the intake manifold and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 9 Nm.
Connect the accelerator cable to the throttle assembly, then adjust the accelerator cable play so that it is within 5.7-6.3 mm.
Connect the hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
Connect the connector to the idle air control valve located on the throttle body.
Connect the cooling system hoses to the throttle body.
Install the air intake tube (1) and air filter housing cover (2) as an assembly (see the relevant chapter). Tighten the air intake pipe bracket mounting nut to 16 N·m.
Connect the resonator hose to the air intake tube (1).
Connect the connector to the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube.
Install the lower engine compartment protection.
Fill the engine cooling system with coolant, bleed the cooling system and check the cooling system for leaks (see the relevant chapter).

Removal
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the lower engine compartment protection.
Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.
Disconnect the air intake hose from the engine.
Disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable from the throttle segments, marking their installation positions to facilitate adjustment after reconnecting the cables (see picture on next page).
Disconnect the connectors, vacuum hoses, air intake hose and coolant hoses from the throttle body.
Remove the bolts and throttle assembly from the expansion chamber.
Installation
Clean the mating surfaces of the throttle body and expansion chamber from any remaining old gasket.
Install the throttle body with a new gasket on the expansion chamber and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 25 N·m.
Connect the connectors, vacuum hoses, air intake hose and coolant hoses to the throttle body.
Connect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable to the throttle valve sectors and adjust them.
Install the lower engine compartment protection.
Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
Fill the engine cooling system with coolant, bleed the cooling system and check the cooling system for leaks (see the relevant chapter).
