Radiator for cars with 2.2L petrol engines
Removal
Remove the radiator fan shroud assembly (see the relevant chapter).
Disconnect the lower hose from the radiator and the hose from the expansion tank.
Remove the mounting brackets from the radiator and lift the radiator straight up out of the vehicle, being careful not to damage the radiator fins. Be careful not to lose the rubber radiator mounts.
Examination
Check the radiator for cracks, damage or leaks.
Check the radiator for bent fins. If necessary, use a comb to straighten the platinum.
Check the condition of the radiator inlet and outlet pipes.
Installation
Install the radiator with rubber radiator mounts.
Install the radiator mounting brackets and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 26 N·m.
Connect the lower hose to the radiator.
Install the radiator fan shroud assembly (see the relevant chapter).

Removal
Remove the lower engine compartment protection.
Unscrew the plug (1) and drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.

On a vehicle with an automatic transmission, disconnect the transmission fluid cooling hoses (2) from the radiator.
Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the cooling system outlet manifold mounted on the cylinder block.
Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the thermostat hose.
Disconnect the expansion tank hose (arrow) from the radiator.

Remove 2 bolts and two upper mounts from the radiator.
Release the clips and remove the fan guide from the lower radiator fan guide.
Remove the lower guide and fan shroud from the radiator.
Lift the radiator and hoses off the vehicle, being careful not to damage the radiator fins on the fan.
Remove the radiator rubber mounts.
Examination
Check the radiator for cracks, damage or leaks.
Check the radiator for bent fins. If necessary, use a comb to straighten the platinum.
Check the condition of the radiator inlet and outlet pipes.
Installation
Install the radiator with the rubber radiator mounts, being careful not to damage the radiator fins on the fan.
Install the lower guide and fan shroud onto the radiator.
Install the fan guide onto the lower radiator fan guide and secure with clamps.
Install the two upper radiator mounts and secure them with 2 bolts.
Connect the expansion tank hose (arrow) to the radiator.

Connect the lower radiator hose to the thermostat hose.
Connect the upper radiator hose to the cooling system outlet manifold.
On a vehicle with an automatic transmission, connect the transmission fluid cooling hoses (2) to the radiator.

Fill the engine cooling system with coolant, bleed the cooling system and check the cooling system for leaks (see the relevant chapter).
Check the automatic transmission fluid level and correct it if necessary.
