Thermostat housing for 2.2L diesel engine (Opel Frontera B)

Removal

Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.

Disconnect the air intake hose from the air intake duct and move it to the side.

Remove the engine cover.

Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector (1).



Disconnect the hoses (2) from the thermostat housing.

Remove the thermostat housing (3) from the cylinder head.

Installation

Install the thermostat housing with a new gasket onto the cylinder head.

Connect the hoses to the thermostat housing.

Connect the connector to the coolant temperature sensor.

Install the engine cover.

Connect the air intake hose to the air intake duct.

Fill the engine cooling system with coolant, bleed the cooling system and check the cooling system for leaks (see the relevant chapter).
