Front wheel hub: 1 - bolt; 2 - lid; 3 - retaining and adjusting rings; 4 - hub drive flange; 5 - locking washer and bolt; 6 - hub mounting nut; 7 - outer bearing; 8 - bolt; 9 - hub assembly with brake disc; 10 - wheel mounting stud; 11 - wheel speed sensor rotor (models with ABS); 12 - inner bearing; 13 - oil seal
Removal
Raise the vehicle and support it on supports.
Remove the front wheel from the corresponding side.
Remove the 2 caliper mounting bolts, lift the caliper up and secure it to the front suspension strut with soft wire.

Remove the hub drive flange from the drive shaft (see the relevant chapter).

Remove 3 screws (1) and lock washer from wheel hub nut.

Using a special KM-741 wrench, unscrew the hub mounting nut.
Remove the outer bearing inner race from the wheel hub.

Remove the hub with the brake disc from the steering knuckle.
Disassembly and assembly
Remove the seal and inner bearing inner race from the hub sleeve.
Using a hammer and brass rod, knock the outer bearing races out of the hub sleeve.

Clean the wheel hub and hub spindle from grease and dirt.
Using a special tool KM-J-8092 with adapters, install the outer bearing rings into the hub sleeve.
- Adapter for installing an internal bearing: KM-743.
- Adapter for installing an external bearing: KM-742.

Fill with special grease 19 48 606 (90 510 336) for bearings outer (3) and inner (1) hub bearings (2).
Amount of grease:
- outer bearing: 10 g
- inner bearing: 15g

Install the inner bearing inner race.
Using a special tool KM-J-8092 with an adapter KM-774, install the seal.

Installation
Install the hub with the brake disc on the steering knuckle and tighten the hub mounting nut with a special KM-741 wrench to a torque of 29 N·m, then completely loosen the nut.

Using a special KM-741 wrench, tighten the nut so that the preload of the hub bearings, measured by a spring dynamometer connected to the wheel mounting stud, corresponds to the required value.

Front wheel hub bearing preload:
- new: 20-25 Nm
- reinstalled: 12-18 Nm
If the preload is not as required, adjust it by turning the hub mounting nut.
Install the locking washer and screw in the washer mounting bolts.
If the bolt hole in the washer does not line up with the bolt hole in the nut, turn the washer over. If the holes do not line up again, turn the nut slightly, just until the holes in the washer and nut line up.

Tighten the retaining bolts until their heads do not protrude above the surface of the washer.
Install the hub drive flange onto the drive shaft (see the relevant chapter).
(The article was published on the website: Opelbook.ru)
Install the caliper on the steering knuckle and secure with 2 bolts, tightening them to a torque of 155 Nm.

Install the front wheel.
Lower the car.
