Front suspension: 1 - Front brake protective cover; 2 - steering knuckle; 3 - nut and cotter pin; 4 - lower ball joint; 5 - bearing; 6 - thrust washer; 7 - oil seal; 8 - nut and cotter pin; 9 - upper ball joint; 10 - Upper wishbone of the front suspension; 11 - torsion
Removal
Raise the vehicle and support it on supports.
Remove the front wheel.
Remove the 2 caliper mounting bolts, lift the caliper up and secure it to the front suspension strut with soft wire.
Remove the front wheel hub from the steering knuckle (see the relevant chapter).

Loosen the front suspension height adjustment lever adjusting bolt. Before removing the adjusting bolt, pivot and anchor arm socket, measure the adjusting bolt protrusion.
Remove the bolt and ABS sensor from the steering knuckle.
Remove 3 bolts and front brake cover.

Loosen the nut securing the ball joint pin of the steering rod end to the steering knuckle. Using the KM-787 puller, push the ball joint pin of the steering rod end out of the steering knuckle.

Remove the cotter pin, unscrew the nut and use the KM-787 puller to remove the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle.

Remove the cotter pin, unscrew the nut and use a suitable puller to remove the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle.

Remove the steering knuckle from the upper and lower front suspension arms.
Disassembly
Remove the seal and washer from the steering knuckle.
Using an inertia hammer and a suitable adapter, remove the bearing from the steering knuckle.

Assembly
Before assembly, apply anti-friction grease 19 48 606 to the seal of the new bearing (90 510 336).
Using the special tool KM-J-8092 and a hammer, install the bearing, washer and oil seal into the steering knuckle.

Devices for installing parts:
- KM-750 for roller bearing;
- KM-749 or KM-J-41468 depending on the type of seal.
Installation
Install the steering knuckle into the upper ball joint. Tighten the upper ball joint pin mounting nut to a torque of 98 N·m and turn it until the first alignment of the locking hole with the slot in the crown nut. Install a new cotter pin.
Install the steering knuckle into the lower ball joint. Tighten the lower ball joint pin mounting nut to a torque of 147 N·m and turn it until the first alignment of the locking hole with the slot in the crown nut. Install a new cotter pin.
Install the front brake cover and secure it with 3 bolts.

Install the ball joint pin of the left tie rod end into the steering knuckle and secure it with a nut.
Install the ABS sensor onto the steering knuckle and secure it with the bolt.
Install the front wheel hub (see the relevant chapter).
Install the caliper on the steering knuckle and secure with 2 bolts, tightening them to a torque of 155 Nm.
