Removal

Remove the front wheel.
Mark the position relative to the wheel hub.
Removing the axle shaft from the wheel hub.
Remove the dust cap.
Note: The dust cap cannot be removed without damage.
Remove locking pin 2 from axle shaft nut 3.
Install the KM-6610 fixture onto the wheel hub with two wheel screws 4.
Remove axle shaft nut 3, hold KM-6610 5 together with extension KM-956-16.
Remove the KM-6610 tool.

Remove the brake disc.

Remove the tie rod end.
Install the CH-47658 2 tool to the correct position.
Note: Center using socket wrench attachment.
Use a suitable bushing 4. Bushing 4 should fit snugly against tie rod arm 3. Tighten tool CH-47658 2 with hexagon 1.
Unscrew nut 5.
Remove CH-47658 2, loosen with Allen key 1.

Remove the wheel sensor holder 1 with the ABS wheel sensor from the steering knuckle.
Remove the screw.
Remove the tie rod end 2.
Remove the KM-507-C 3 tool from the steering knuckle.
Remove the steering knuckle from the guide joint.
Unscrew the nut with screw 4.
Remove the shock absorber support tube from the steering knuckle.
Note: When replacing the steering knuckle, reinstall the brake disc cover plate and use a new wheel bearing.

Unscrew 2 nuts with screw 5.
Installation
Install steering knuckle 1.
Insert the steering knuckle into the guide joint of the independent suspension arm 2.
Bring axle shaft 3 into the wheel hub.
Install the shock absorber support pipe onto the steering knuckle, tighten 2 new screws and nuts 4 80 Nm + 60° +15°.
Tighten screw 7 of the guide joint to 60 Nm.

Use a new nut.
Install the head of the transverse steering rod 6 on the steering knuckle.
Install the CH-47658 fixture in the correct position.
Note. Center with the socket wrench attachment. Use a suitable sleeve. The sleeve must fit snugly against the tie rod lever. Tighten the CH-47658 by the hexagon socket.
Tighten the nut to 35 Nm.
Remove the CH-47658 tool and loosen it with a hex key.
Install the wheel sensor holder 5 with the ABS wheel sensor on the steering knuckle 8 Nm.

Install the brake disc.
Secure the axle shaft to the wheel hub.
Install KM-6610 1 with 2 wheel screws onto the wheel hub.
Tighten the new castle nut 1 and washer 2 on the half shaft to 120 Nm.
Hold the KM-6610 4 fixture together with the KM-956-1 6 extension.
Loosen castle nut 1 until castle nut 1 can be turned by hand.
Tighten the castle nut 1 20 Nm + 90°.
Install a new locking pin.
Note: If necessary, turn castle nut 1 back until the cotter pin hole is aligned with the next slot in the castle nut.
Remove the KM-66104 tool.
Install the new dust cap 5 onto the wheel hub.

Install the front wheel – tightening torque 110 Nm.
