General information about the suspension (Opel Corsa C)

            0

The suspension is the link between the body and the wheels. Through it, the forces acting on the wheels are transmitted to the body. The suspension serves to reduce dynamic loads, reduce body vibrations, soften the impact of the wheels on the unevenness of the road, and ensures stability and smoothness of the car.

The front suspension consists of a steering knuckle, strut, spring and lever.

The arm swings relative to the body. The lower arm uses a rubber bushing. The upper end of the strut is fixed to the body and consists of a bearing that allows the wheel to turn.

The lower part of the steering knuckle is attached to a ball joint, which is connected to the arm with a bolt. When servicing the arm mount to the body and the stabilizer insulator from the body, make sure that the mounting bolts are loosened so that the arm will reach the maximum upper position of the rolling amplitude when rolling, which is also the normal position to which the arm moves when the car is on the ground.
