Note. Replace springs and shock absorbers only in pairs.
Removing
Remove shock absorber 1.
Install the KM-6066 2 fixture on a workbench or clamp it in a vise.
Install shock absorber 3 on KM-6066.
Install tool MKM-6068-10 on MKM-6068.
Install tool MKM-6068 1 and tension the spring.
Mark the placement and installed position of the assemblies until the load on the thrust bearing is removed.
Remove thrust bearing (arrow) from the shock absorber piston rod.
Unscrew the nut - hold it with a suitable tool.
Remove the upper damping ring and upper thrust bearing with spring seat.
Remove the shock absorber from the shock absorber piston rod.
Remove the coil spring using tool MKM-6068 1 from the spring strut support tube.
Installation
Install the spring on the suspension strut support tube 3.
Insert the spring with tool MKM-6068 1 into the spring strut support tube.
Slide the shock absorber onto the piston rod.
Fit the thrust bearing with the spring seat on top and the upper damping ring - first determine the marked installation position and location.
Install the thrust bearing onto the shock piston rod using a suitable tool
Tighten a new nut (arrow) 50 Nm.
Open the spring compressor MKM-6068 1 and remove from the spring.
Note. Make sure the spring is properly seated.
Remove the suspension strut from KM-6066 2.
Install the shock absorber.
Check wheel camber, adjust if necessary.
