Heater unit (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system (see the relevant chapter).

Loosen the clamps and disconnect the hoses (1) from the heater unit, collecting the leaking coolant.

Remove the instrument panel.

Disconnect the connector (2) from the resistor block.

Disconnect the air duct (3) from the heater unit.

On a vehicle with an air conditioning system, loosen the nuts and remove the evaporator (4) from the engine compartment bulkhead (see the relevant chapter).

Remove the bolts and remove the instrument panel bracket from the cross member.

Loosen the nuts and remove the heater unit (5) from the engine compartment bulkhead.

Heater unit: 1 - hoses; 2 - connector; 3 - air duct; 4 - evaporator; 5 - heater unit

Installation



Install the heater unit (5) on the engine compartment bulkhead and secure it with nuts.

Install the instrument panel bracket onto the crossbar and secure it with bolts.

On a vehicle with air conditioning, install the evaporator (4) on the engine compartment bulkhead (see the relevant chapter).



Connect the air duct (3) to the heater unit.

Connect the connector (2) to the resistor block.

Install the instrument panel.

Connect the hoses (1) to the heater unit and secure them securely with clamps.

Fill the engine cooling system with coolant (see the relevant chapter).

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.

Connect and adjust the heating and ventilation control cables (see the relevant chapter).
