Receiver/dryer — replacement (Opel Frontera B)

Note: Have the refrigerant discharged from the air conditioning system at a specialized station.


Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Remove the air cleaner cover and air intake duct.

Remove the air filter housing.

Disconnect the connector from the receiver/dryer pressure sensor.

Remove the pressure sensor from the receiver/dryer.

Remove the pressure sensor from the receiver/dryer.


Remove the bolts, disconnect the air conditioning pipes from the receiver/dryer and remove the pipe seals. Immediately close the disconnected tubes and their connections with appropriate caps to prevent moisture from entering the system.

Remove the bracket mounting bolt and remove the receiver/dryer from the front cross panel.

Installation



Install the receiver/dryer onto the front cross panel bracket and secure it with the bolt.

Install new O-rings on the tubes connected to the receiver/dryer and lubricate them with compressor oil.

Connect the tubes with new sealing rings to the receiver/dryer and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 6 Nm.

Screw the pressure sensor into the receiver/dryer and tighten it to 13 Nm.

Install the air filter housing.

Install the air cleaner cover and air intake duct.

At a specialized station, evacuate the air and charge the refrigerant into the air conditioning system.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
