Dismantling the radio receiver

Our descriptions are based on the factory installation type. For radios with anti-theft coding, first make sure you have the code number.

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the four 1.5mm Allen screws from the radio front plate.

Insert the release bracket into the four holes (sometimes included in a radio mounting kit) and remove the radio from the console cutout.

Or insert four suitable nails or wire pins into the holes and use them to release the mounting springs. Remove the radio.

Before installation, remove the release bracket by squeezing the mounting clips on the side of the radio with a small screwdriver.

When installing, press the radio into the mounting hole so that the mounting springs can enter the grooves.

If the radio has an anti-theft code, enter the code number in accordance with the operating instructions.

Left: before you can remove the radio, you need to unscrew four 1.5 mm Allen bolts from the decorative panel of the radio.

Right: insert the release tab into the four holes and remove the radio from the cutout.

Tips: The anti-theft code must be entered after each interruption of the power supply - after disconnecting the battery, replacing the radio fuse or disconnecting the power supply.

Never disconnect the power cord while the radio is on. This may make it difficult to re-enter the anti-theft code.

Removal the upper speaker in the door

Factory installed tweeters are inserted into clips behind the interior door handle trim panel. Removal and installation are described here:

Remove the inner door handle from the trim, see section "Removal door trim" in the chapter on the body.

Where there is any, remove the foam from the inner handle.

The tweeter is inserted into the clips on the inside door handle. Carefully press the clips away from the speaker with a screwdriver, while simultaneously removing the speaker from the handle.

When installing, press the tweeter into the clips.

Removal the lower speaker in the door

When removing the lower speaker in the door, you need to remove the corresponding door trim, see the chapter on the body.

Remove the three mounting screws.

Remove the speaker from the door metal.

Disconnect the wire connector located underneath from the speaker.

For vehicles with an additional mid-tone speaker, remove it in the same way as described above.
