Troubleshooting
Mirror adjustment: if the mirror does not move, check the appropriate fuse.
For the following checks, the ignition must be on.
Use a narrow screwdriver or a knife blade to carefully pry the switch trim out of the cutout in the inner handle or, where necessary, remove the door trim, see body chapter.
Check the switch according to the instructions in the section «Circuit breaker test» in the text of the chapter above and according to the electrical diagram.
If the switch is OK, check the mirror adjustment motor.
To do this, dismantle the mirror glass and, having unscrewed the fixing screws, remove the servomotor from the mirror housing.
Is there voltage at the motor contacts when the ignition is on and the switch is pressed, and is the ground connection OK?
If so, the servomotor may still be faulty.
Temporarily, the exterior view mirror is installed by rotating it by hand.
If the mirror heating fails, check the appropriate fuse and current flow from the switch through the relay to the mirror. The relay is located at the top in the fuse box.
Left: the upper door speakers are fixed to the rear side of the inner handle. When dismantling, carefully press the latches away from the speaker with a screwdriver, and at the same time remove the speaker.
On right: To be able to dismantle the lower speaker in the door, you need to remove the door lining. Then, unscrewing the fixing screws and disconnecting the wire connector, remove the speaker from the metal of the door.
Left: dismantled mirror glass (3). On the reverse side, a wire connector is inserted (arrows) mirror heating, and in the mirror housing (1) located servomotor (2).
On right: after the mirror adjustment switch has been removed from the inside door handle, it can be checked according to section «Circuit breaker test» in this chapter and in the wiring diagram.
