Check of the moment of ignition of the engine 2.0 l to the middle of 1995 of release
On an older 2.0l engine, the ignition timing can be checked. To do this, you must attach a stroboscope in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. With the engine idling, point the strobe light at the crankshaft belt pulley. The groove on the pulley and the pointer must match the oil pump housing.
If the ignition timing is incorrect, it is best to contact a car workshop, as the causes may be different.
For a 2.4 liter engine, the ignition timing is checked in the same way. The difference lies in the fact that in this case the light must be directed into the hole in the flywheel housing. Markings on the flywheel and the viewing window of the clutch housing must match when the ignition timing is correctly adjusted.
The ignition timing is not adjustable for these engines. The ignition timing is 8-12°before TDC.
