Camshafts without phase shifters
1. Remove the top front accessory drive belt cover.
2. Turn the crankshaft pulley in the direction of normal rotation to set the piston of the first cylinder to the top dead center position (labels 1).
3. Insert fixing tool EN-6340 (1, 2) into the camshaft pulleys.
Note. Tags (3) on the latch must match.
4. Remove the EN-6340 retainer.
5. Install the upper front timing belt cover.
Camshafts with phase shifters
1. Remove the upper front timing belt cover.
2. Turn the crankshaft pulley in the direction of normal rotation to set the piston of the first cylinder to the top dead center position (labels 1).
3. Remove the cylinder head cover.
4. Prepare the right half of the EN-6340 fixture:
- Loosen two screws (2).
- Remove front panel (1) from the right half of the EN-6340 fixture.
Note. The right half of the EN-6340 fixture can be identified by the inscription «RIGHT».
5. Insert left (1) and right (2) parts of the EN-6340 retainer into the camshaft phase shifters.
Note.
- dot mark (4) on the intake camshaft phaser must not fit the groove on the left side of the EN-6340 retainer (1) during this procedure, but should be slightly higher.
- dot mark (3) on the exhaust camshaft shifter must match the groove on the right side of the EN-6340 retainer (2).
6. Align the horizontal slots of the camshafts (arrows), by turning them by the hex parts so that the EN-6628-A fixing tool can be inserted into both camshafts.
7. Insert fixing tool EN-6628-A (1) into the camshafts.
Note. If the EN-6628-A retainer does not fit, the timing gear needs to be adjusted.
8. Remove the EN-6628-A fixture.
9. Remove the EN-6340 retainer.
10. Install the cylinder head cover.
11. Install the upper front timing belt cover.
