2. These parts must also be replaced if the following defects and malfunctions are revealed during their inspection:
- Distinct idler/tensioner roller bearing noise with both the timing belt installed and removed;
- With the belt removed, the rollers produce a large number of revolutions with a slight push;
- Excessive oiling of the rollers due to damage to the bearing seals;
- Identification of traces of exposure to sand, dust or salt water on the working surfaces of the toothed belt, guide / tension roller;
- On the toothed belt, cuts or transverse ruptures of the upper layer, side thickenings, abrasions and signs of wear of the sidewalls, cracks in the base of the belt, delamination, traces of oil and grease were found.
