Since the middle of 1995, the design of the front suspension has been changed due to the introduction of an anti-lock braking system. In this regard, the design of the upper and lower transverse levers was also changed. The connection of the anti-roll bar with the transverse levers is now carried out through connecting rods with ball joints. Changes have been made to the front torsion bars. Gas-filled shock absorbers. Vehicles since mid-1995 have larger 16" wheels instead of the previous 15" wheels. Accordingly, the geometry of the front suspension was changed.
Despite the changes made to the design of the front suspension of the 1997 car, the axle was not changed.
Before describing the work carried out on the front suspension, it is necessary to give some general guidelines that are not mentioned below:
- 1 - Before removing the wheels, mark their position relative to the hubs. When installing wheels, the marking must be taken into account.
- 2 - All bolts, nuts and other fasteners must be tightened to the specified torque.
- 3 - Before starting any work, disconnect the earth cable from the battery.
- 4 - The thread of the connections installed on the means for fixing "Loctite", before re-use must be passed with a lerka or tap to remove residues "Loctite". This does not apply to microencapsulated bolts.
1. Before installing the brake disc, check that there is no dirt or foreign matter between the disc and the hub. The mating surfaces must be smooth and free from nicks.
2. Dispose of brake fluid in accordance with legal requirements.
3. Adhesives, sealants, etc. materials have a certain shelf life. Do not use these materials if their expiration date has passed.
4. After the repair is completed, install the removed cables in place and secure with regular fastening elements provided for by the vehicle design.
5. All work must be carried out in compliance with the rules of labor protection and environmental protection. It should be remembered that the car has a lot of weight. Do not lie under the vehicle without taking appropriate precautions to secure the vehicle in the raised position.
6. When turning off the wheel, it must be placed next to the car, thereby providing additional safety measures in the event of a car falling.
