Removing
1. Before removing the shock absorber, find out if it is hydraulic or gas-filled.
2. Before removing the shock absorber, it is necessary to raise the transverse arm by compressing the shock absorber.
3. Detach the upper shock absorber from the chassis, i.e. unscrew the nut and remove both washers and buffer.
4. Sometimes it is enough to replace the bushings. In this case, lower the steering knuckle arm so that the shock absorber comes out of the holder, remove the bushings and install new ones.
5. Unscrew the bolt and nut from the lower side of the transverse arm and remove the shock absorber.
6. Remove buffer and washer from cylinder rod.
7. To check the removed shock absorber, clamp it vertically in a vise and push it. Throughout the path of movement, the rod must provide the same resistance. "Dead" zones should not be. Replace buffer if necessary.
Installation
The shock absorber is installed in the reverse order of removal.
1. Tighten the fastening nut at the top with a torque of 20 Nm.
2. Tighten the bolt and nut below to 83 Nm.
