Attention! Shock absorbers are changed in pairs.
1. Raise the rear of the car and place on stands, remove the wheels.
2. On station wagon models with pneumatic rear suspension height adjustment, remove the rear right light cover in the luggage compartment and bleed air from the system by opening the valve. Disconnect the pneumatic system tube on the shock absorber by removing the bracket.
3. Raise the suspension by placing a jack under the arm.
4. Turn away the bottom bolt of fastening of the shock-absorber (see photo).
5. Remove the top bolt (see photo) and remove the damper.
6. Check the stroke of the shock absorber piston by clamping the shock absorber in a vice on the lower mount.
If intermittent resistance to piston stroke is felt, replace the shock absorber. Check the condition of the rubber bushings; if the bushings are worn, replace the shock absorber assembly.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. On models with automatic suspension height adjustment, create a pressure in the pneumatic system of 0.8 atm, then adjust the pressure in accordance with the load.
