Rear shock absorbers — inspection and replacement (Opel Zafira A)

            0

Warning!

Shock absorbers must be replaced in pairs, even if one is faulty.

Do not remove both shock absorbers at the same time with the vehicle raised, as excessive lowering of the rear suspension beam will damage the brake lines and hoses.

To perform the work, you will need a car stand and a jack. We perform the work with an assistant.

Removal

1. Prepare the car for work and hang the rear part of the car on stands (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

The source is on the online website opelbook.ru

2. Remove the wheel (see "Wheel - replacement").

7. Inspect the removed shock absorber. If there are signs of fluid leakage or the mounting bushings are badly worn, replace the shock absorber.

8. By fully extending and retracting the shock absorber rod, we check its functionality. If dips, jerks are felt or extraneous sounds are heard when moving the rod, we replace the shock absorber.

9. Install the shock absorber in the reverse order.

10. Replace the second shock absorber in the same way.
