To complete the work you will need:
- viewing ditch or overpass;
- car stand;
- jack.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»). We install stops under the front wheels and hang out the back of the car.
2. Remove the rear wheels (see «Wheel - replacement»).
3. Disconnect the rear brake pipes from the rear brake cylinders (see «Rear brake cylinders - removal and installation»).
4. Disconnect the ABS wiring harness block (see k, 195, «Rear wheel hub - replacement»).
5. Using the TORX E10 key, we unscrew the bolt securing the brake pipe bracket and the ABS wire harness and the left and right levers of the rear suspension beam.
6. Disconnect the main parking brake cables from the wheel ones and remove them from the brackets on the levers of the rear suspension beam (see «Parking brake cables - replacement»).
7. We install supports under the torsion beam of the rear suspension.
8. Turn off the lower bolts of the shock absorbers and remove the rear springs (see «Rear suspension springs - replacement»).
9. Using an 18 mm wrench, unscrew the nuts securing the beam to the brackets on the left and right sides, holding the bolts from turning with a second wrench of the same size.
10. Using the E18 TORX key, unscrew the three bolts securing the rear suspension beam bracket to the body on the left and right sides and remove the beam.
11. We remove the bolts of the beam to the brackets.
12. Remove the beam brackets.
13. If necessary, use a 16 mm socket wrench to unscrew the four hub nuts (see «Rear wheel hub - replacement»).
14. Remove the hub assembly with the brake mechanism.
15. Remove the second hub in the same way.
16. We install the parts in the reverse order. We finally tighten the nuts of the bolts of the beam levers to the body brackets on the car standing on the ground. Tighten bolts and nuts to specified torques (see «Reference data»).
