Cars with a "hatchback", "sedan" and "station wagon" body
Removal
Raise the rear of the car and place it on stands. Remove the rear wheels, having previously marked their location relative to the hubs.
Measure the length of the protruding threaded portion of the parking brake drive rod.
Loosen the parking brake adjusting nut and remove the cable from the equalizer.
Remove the parking brake cable from the guides located on the gearbox tunnel and the plastic bushings from the holders on the fuel tank. On station wagons, remove the handbrake cable from the holders located on the underbody.
Disconnect the muffler from the bottom of the body.
Disconnect the brake hoses from the service brake system lines and plug the holes in the lines and hoses with plugs.
Remove the stoppers from the brackets and disconnect the brake hoses from the brackets.
On station wagons, unscrew the bolts securing the rear brake pressure regulator spring bracket to the beam.
Install a jack with a support made according to the drawing under the rear suspension arm and remove the shock absorber. On cars with a hatchback and sedan body, use a mounting blade to extract the shock absorber bushing from the socket in the suspension arm.
Remove the brake drums and shields as described in the "Brake System" section.
Loosen the bolts securing the anti-roll bar and separate it from the beam, using a mandrel to press it out if necessary.
Installation
Install the anti-roll bar into place.
Install the shields, brake shoe and wheel hubs.
Install the brake drums and lubricate the mating surfaces of the brake shield and beam with a thin layer of sealant.
Place the assembled beam on a hydraulic jack, lift it and secure it to the body.
Place a jack under one of the suspension arms and install the spring with the buffer into the suspension arm socket.
Raise the suspension arm higher with a jack and install the shock absorber. If the lower mounting bolt is difficult to install, use a jig.
Tighten the shock absorber mounting nuts. On station wagons, perform final tightening only after obtaining dimension "A" = 8 mm of the shock absorber rod end protrusion relative to the end of the shock absorber lower mounting nut.
Perform similar operations on the other side of the car.
On station wagons, secure the rear brake pressure regulator spring mounting bracket.
Install the brake hoses into the holders on the beam and secure them with the locking plates.
Connect the service brake system lines to the brake hoses.
Attach the muffler to the brackets on the bottom of the body.
Secure the parking brake cable to the brackets on the rear axle with hooks on the fuel tank and holders on the underbody. Attach the cable to the equalizer and tighten the adjusting nut so that the threaded part of the rod protrudes the same amount as when removed.
Install the wheels and lower the vehicle.
Adjust the clearance in the rear wheel hub bearings.
Load the vehicle with two people in the front seats and tighten the beam hinge bolts to the specified torque.
Bleed the brake system and make sure there are no brake fluid leaks.
Check and adjust the parking brake if necessary.
Cars with a "van" body
Removal
Raise the rear of the vehicle, place it on stands and remove the rear wheels.
Remove the brake drums.
Disconnect the cable ends from the brake shoe manual drive levers.
Compress the springs of the parking brake cables and remove the plastic bushings from the brake shields and parking brake cables.
Disconnect the brake hoses from the service brake system pipes on the beam bracket and remove the brake hose retaining plates.
Place a hydraulic jack under the center of the rear suspension beam.
Loosen the nuts of the bolts securing the lower ends of the shock absorbers.
Loosen the compression stroke buffer cup mounting nut and remove the cup.
Loosen the spring U-bolt mounting nuts, remove the U-bolts and pads.

Remove the rear suspension beam using a jack.
Installation
Raise the rear suspension beam with a hydraulic jack until the stoppers are opposite the spring mounting pins.
Secure the beam to the springs using stirrups with spacers, paying attention when tightening the stirrup fastening nuts to ensure that the difference in the lengths of the protruding threaded ends of the stirrups does not exceed 3 mm.
Install the compression stroke buffer cup.
Secure the lower ends of the shock absorbers to the beam, tightening the bolt nuts to a torque of 1.0 kgf·m.
Remove the hydraulic jack.
Connect the brake hoses to the service brake system lines.
Connect the parking brake cables.
Install the brake drums.
Install the rear wheels and lower the vehicle.
Bleed the brake hydraulic system, adjust the parking brake system and the rear brake pressure regulator.
