Removal
1. Place a garage lift under the lower control arm and support the suspension.
2. Disconnect the ball joint from the top side.

3. Disconnect the ball joint.
4. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the ball joint from the suspension crossmember. On cars produced before mid-1995, the joint is secured with four bolts; on cars produced later, with three bolts.
Installation
The ball joint is installed in the reverse order of removal.
When tightening the bolts and nuts, observe the following points:
If the ball joint is secured with four bolts, the tightening torque is 33 Nm.
If the ball joint is secured with three bolts, the tightening torque is 61 Nm.
Fastening the ball joint to the wishbone with three bolts and nuts for a car from mid-1995
1. Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
2. Tighten the lock nut to a torque of 105 Nm and secure with a cotter pin.
