To complete the work you will need:
- car stand;
- jack;
- anti-recoil stops.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the front wheel of the car (see «Wheel - replacement»).
3. Using an 18 mm wrench, we unscrew the nut of the coupling bolt of the collar that fastens the ball joint pin to the steering knuckle, holding the bolt from turning with a second wrench of the same size.
4. If necessary, use a chisel or a powerful screwdriver to slightly spread the collar of the steering knuckle.
5. Using a mount, press the lever down until the ball joint pin comes out of the steering knuckle clamp.
6. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the nuts of the bolts securing the ball joint to the lever, holding the bolts from turning with a second wrench of the same size.
7. Remove the bolts and remove the ball joint.
8. If the cover of the installed ball joint is not fixed or grease was supplied with the support, then put the grease into the internal cavity of the protective cover.
9. Next, install the parts in reverse order.
