The correctness of the pressure regulator can be checked using a special device in the conditions of an Opel car repair shop. The pressure regulator mount is shown in the illustration.
The replacement of the regulator is carried out as follows:
Removing
1. Raise and place the rear of the vehicle on stands.
2. Disconnect the brake lines from the regulator (1), (2) And (3). To prevent the brake fluid from spilling out of the system, it is necessary to unscrew the reservoir cap on the master cylinder, fill in the fluid to the upper level, put polyethylene on top and wrap the cap again. Plug the disconnected pipelines to prevent dirt from entering the system.
3. Disconnect the cotter pin, nut from the bridge (5), washer (6) and holder (7).
4. Loosen the nuts (4), remove the two washers and remove the pressure regulator and spring assembly.
Installation
The regulator is installed as follows:
1. Install the adjuster and spring assembly and secure with two washers and nuts (4).
2. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 12 Nm.
3. Install holder (7), washer (6) and a nut (5) with pin.
4. Tighten the nut to a torque of 13 Nm.
5. When installing the holder, make sure that its convex side faces the rubber bushing.
6. Connect your brake lines to your fittings (1) And (3).
7. Tighten the union nut to 16 Nm.
8. Connect carefully, as it has fine carvings.
9. Finally, fill the system with fluid and bleed it as described above.
10. Check the operation of the pressure regulator in a workshop.
