2. Remove the gear shift lever (see section 3).
3. Heat the lever handle in boiling water and remove it from the lever. Even after heating, there is a chance that the handle will be damaged during the removal process. Pull out the spring located under the handle.
4. Remove the 2 setscrews at the top of the shift lever. The top screw has a hex head and requires a hex wrench to remove it. The bottom screw has a slotted head and will require a small screwdriver to remove (see photo).

5. Drive out the cylindrical pins securing the plastic clutch and shift pin to the gear shift lever. It is possible that you will not be able to remove the coupling without damaging it. Remove the cable with its end piece.

6. Install the cable in the reverse order. Install new roll pins and, if necessary, a new plastic clutch and shift knob. The manufacturer does not give any instructions for adjusting the cable, so the position in which the cable should be clamped with the set screws must be checked by trial and error.
