Manual transmission — general description (Opel Ascona C)

Depending on the model, the manual transmission can be 4- or 5-speed and has a common housing with the differential and final drive.

The transmission unit transmits torque through the drive shafts to the front wheels. The gears are engaged using a lever installed on the floor of the car's interior and a gear engagement rod.

The procedures described below for the F10 gearbox are similarly applicable to the F10.4 and F10.5 gearboxes.
