2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the automatic suction valve and plug them, noting the relative position of the hoses. Be prepared for coolant spills.
4. Disconnect the fuel return hose from the top of the steam separator and the fuel supply hose from the side of the steam separator. Plug the hoses (be prepared for fuel spills).
5. Disconnect the outer throttle cable by pulling it out of its bracket. Unhook the inner cable from the throttle valve.
6. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the distributor.
7. Disconnect the distributor wiring at the electrical connector on the engine compartment bulkhead.
8. Unscrew the 3 nuts at the top of the carburetor and remove the carburetor from the studs (see photo).

9. Install the carburetor in the reverse order. If the gasket between the carburetor and the manifold is damaged, replace it with a new one. Start the engine, let it run and check the coolant level. Add liquid if necessary.
