2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the automatic choke and plug them, noting the relative position of the hoses. Be prepared for coolant spillage.
4. Disconnect the return fuel hose from the top of the steam separator and the supply fuel hose from the side of the steam separator. Plug the hoses (be prepared for fuel spillage).
5. Disconnect the outer throttle cable by pulling it out of its bracket. Disconnect the inner cable from the throttle valve.
6. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the distributor.
7. Disconnect the distributor wiring at the electrical connector on the engine compartment bulkhead.

8. Unscrew the 3 nuts on the top of the carburetor and remove the carburetor from the studs (see photo).

9. The carburetor is installed in the reverse order. If the gasket between the carburetor and manifold is damaged, replace it with a new one. Start the engine, let it run and check the coolant level. Add liquid if necessary.
