1. Remove the air cleaner (see section 4). Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the fuel hose from the carburetor and plug its open end.
3. Disconnect the wiring from the automatic choke or disconnect the manual choke cable.
4. Disconnect the throttle actuator at the ball joint. Disconnect the distributor vacuum hose and the air cleaner vacuum hose (see photo 10.1B).
5. Clamp the cooling system hoses that go to the rear of the carburetor (feed and return hoses).
6. Unscrew and remove 4 nuts on the carburetor flange and remove the carburetor from the manifold.

7. The carburetor is installed in the reverse order, replacing the flange gaskets with new ones.
