Checking the gearbox oil level (Opel Vectra A)

            0

The gearbox oil is not replaced. Its level should be checked every 30,000 km in accordance with the maintenance manual. At the same time, it is also necessary to carry out a visual check for leaks.

The gearbox should be warm but not hot when checked.

Raise the vehicle and place it on supports.

Unscrew the oil filler plug.

Unscrew the oil filler plug.

The oil level should reach the lower edge of the filler hole. If necessary, add oil using an oiler or funnel. Place a container underneath to catch the oil. Do not add oil in large portions.

The oil level should reach the lower edge of the filler hole. If necessary, add oil using an oiler…

Attention! In F-16/5-CR gearboxes (engines with a capacity of 1.6-2.0 l) and F-20/5 CR (16-valve 2.0L engines) with flat lid (see fig. on the left) produced before April 1989, the oil level should be 15 mm below the control mark. A piece of wire can be used to check the oil level. In gearboxes produced since April 1989, oil should be poured up to the lower edge of the control mark. A distinctive feature of the new type of gearboxes is the concave cover of the box.

The amount of oil to be filled for 5-speed gearboxes in engines with a working volume of 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 liters is 1.6 liters, and in engines with a working volume of 1.8 and 2.0 liters - 1.9 liters.

Specification of the oil to be filled: Opel 1940750 (ET-N90001777).

Attention! Do not use oils with high or low viscosity, as this will cause knocking in the gearbox.

Tighten the filler plug.

Lower the car.
