Automatic transmission oil change (Opel Vectra A)

ATF oil should be replaced every 45,000 km. Without oil, the engine cannot be started or the vehicle can be towed.

Attention! The oil must be changed when the gearbox is warm.

Raise the vehicle and place it on supports.

Unscrew the drain plug from the gearbox oil pan and drain the oil into a container provided.

Attention! If the oil has a burning smell and is dark in color, the gearbox needs to be repaired!

Attention! Old oil should be handed over to special collection points. Never drain oil in places not intended for this purpose!

Install a new sealing ring under the drain plug and tighten it to 20 Nm.

Lower the car.

Pour 3.0-3.5 liters of ATF oil into the dipstick hole using a clean funnel. The oil can be preheated to improve fluidity.

Check the oil level (see above subsection "Examination").
