Drive adjustment (Opel Vectra A)

The gearbox control drive must be adjusted if individual gears do not engage, the clutch does not engage, or after replacing the drive itself. When the drive is adjusted correctly, all gears should engage easily with the engine running and the clutch pedal depressed.

Remove the protective cover in the gearbox tunnel.

Set the gear shift lever to neutral position.

Raise the vehicle and place it on supports.

Loosen the gear shift rod mounting clamp.

Remove the plug from the adjustment hole in the drive cover.



Turn the drive rod to the left (relative to the direction of movement) until the Opel KM-527 adjusting device enters the adjusting hole to the stop. Instead of the specified device, you can use a drill with a diameter of 5 mm.

Set and lock the gearshift lever in neutral position (on the 1st and 2nd gear engagement line). In this case, the device must be installed without any gap until it stops, and the arrow must point to the mark.

Tighten the clamp mounting bolts in this position to a torque of 15 Nm.

Check that all gears are engaged; if switching on is difficult, repeat the adjustment.

Install a new plug into the drive cover.



Carry out a test drive and check the ease of gear shifting, repeat the adjustment if necessary.
