Changing the oil in the gearbox during operation is not provided by the manufacturer. However, the need to drain the oil and then change it may arise, for example, when removing the gearbox for its repair (see «Manual transmission - checking the technical condition»).
To perform the work, an inspection ditch or overpass is required, a special syringe for pouring oil into the gearbox (see «Tools, fixtures and operating materials»).
Level check
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Using a 13 mm key, we turn out the plug of the control hole.
3. Oil should reach the bottom edge of the hole. If this is not the case, the oil must be topped up.
4. To do this, turn out the reversing light switch (see «Reversing light switch - check and replace»).
5. Using an oil syringe, add oil to the gearbox until it overflows over the edge of the control hole.
6. We wrap the plug of the control hole.
Recommendation. Do not use excessive force to tighten the plug. To prevent oil leaks, it is better to apply sealant to the threaded part of the plug.
7. Install the reversing light switch.
Replacement
1. Install an oil drain container under the differential cover.
2. We loosen the tightening of the ten bolts securing the differential cover.
3. Drain the oil from the gearbox without removing the cover.
4. Finally unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the cover.
5. Drain the remaining oil from the cover.
Recommendation. Before adding new oil (e.g. after gearbox repair) replace the differential cover gasket. If necessary, cut off the old gasket with a sharply sharpened knife.
6. Install the cover and tighten the fastening bolts to a torque of 18 Nm.
7. Fill in the oil (see above, «Level check»).
