The oil level can be checked both when the engine is warm and when it is cold. An engine with an oil temperature of 80°C is considered warm, and an engine with ambient temperature is considered cold.

With the engine off, remove the reservoir cap.
In four-wheel drive vehicles: turn on the ignition and press the brake pedal 10-15 times (until the oil level stops rising).
Unscrew the tank cap, wipe its measuring rod with a clean, lint-free cloth, screw the cap onto the tank and unscrew it again. Determine the oil level.
When the engine is warm, the oil level should reach the top mark on the dipstick, and when the engine is cold, it should not fall below the bottom mark.
If necessary, correct the oil level. Only ATF oil should be added (known as Dexron) for automatic transmissions (Opel part number: 1940691 (90020172)). Be sure to fill in oil through a strainer, as even the smallest particles of contaminants can lead to malfunctions of the hydraulic system.
The volume of oil to be filled is 1 liter. Pour oil in small portions.
With the engine running, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times. This removes air from the system.
Stop the engine and check the oil level again, top up if necessary.
Attention! Do not add too much oil! When the engine is warm, its level should not exceed the top mark on the dipstick. If too much oil is accidentally poured, pump out the excess with a clean syringe.
Check the integrity and absence of cracks in the sealing ring of the cover.
Tighten the tank cap.
