Removal and installation the power steering pump (Opel Vectra A)

1.8 and 2.0 liter engines

Removal

Remove the V-belt.



Disconnect the supply and drain hoses, first loosening the clamps.

Caution! Place a container underneath, as oil will leak out. Close the hose openings with suitable clean plugs.

Loosen the pump mounting bolts and remove the pump.

Installation

Install the pump and tighten its mounting bolts to a torque of 25 Nm.

Connect the hoses and secure with clamps.

Check, install and tension the V-belt.

Remove air from the system.

1.6L engines

Removal

Remove the air filter.

Remove the poly V-belt.



Remove the pump belt pulley.



Unfasten and remove the top timing belt cover.



Loosen the bolts securing the pump to the cylinder head and remove the pump in the direction of the generator.

Disconnect the supply and drain hoses.

Caution! Place a container underneath as oil will leak out. Close the hose openings with suitable clean plugs.

Installation

Screw in the pump mounting bolts onto the cylinder head without tightening.

Install the upper timing belt cover.

Tighten the pump mounting bolts to 25 Nm.

Install and tension the poly V-belt.

Connect the hoses to the pump.



Install the air filter.

Remove air from the hydraulic system.
