Removal
1. Remove the air filter housing and air intake sleeve.
2. Remove the V-belt (see Chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
3. Disconnect the pressure and return hydraulic lines from the power steering pump, having placed a container underneath to collect the leaking fluid. Seal the fittings and hoses In the accompanying illustration diesel shown 1.5 l engine.

4. On gasoline engines, disconnect the pump from the holder and remove it.

5. On 1.5L diesel engine remove the tensioner, disconnect the pump and remove it.
On diesel engines, to remove the power steering pump, it is necessary to remove the drive belt tensioner

Installation
1. On 1.5L diesel engine tighten the pump holder fastener to the cylinder head with force 60 Nm.
2. Tighten the power steering pump fasteners with force 30 Nm.
3. Secure the discharge hose to the pump with force 30 Nm.
4. Connect the return hose.
5. Install the V-belt and tighten it (see Chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
6. Install the air filter and air intake hose.
7. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid.
8. Start the engine and monitor the fluid level in the power steering reservoir. If the level drops, immediately top up the fluid; its level should not fall below the lower mark.
9. Remove air from the hydraulic system of the power steering (see section Bleeding the hydraulic system of the power steering).
