Every 15,000 km or every 12 months.
Note: Opel uses a special template. The test values using this template are given in Specifications in Section 10.
Control
1. Correct belt tension can be achieved by adjusting the length of the threaded rod. It should give a belt slack of approximately 10.0 mm with moderate thumb pressure in the middle of the belt between the pulleys. Excessive belt tension can cause damage to the pump.
2. Check the condition of the belt and replace it if there are any signs of damage or excessive wear

3. Loosen the adjuster and mounting bolts.
4. Loosen the adjuster nuts and adjust the length of the threaded rod (see illustration).

5. Tighten the regulator nuts and mounting bolts to the specified tightening torque Specification (see section 10).
6. If a new drive belt has been installed, recheck the tension after several hundred kilometers.
