Every 15,000 km or every 12 months.
Note: The new ribbed V-belt fitted to later models cannot be adjusted.
1. Belt tension should be approximately 13.0 mm of free play when applying thumb pressure to the middle of the longest section between pulleys.
2. Loosen the mounting bolts securing the block, pull the alternator away from the engine using a wooden pry bar until the correct tension is achieved. Then tighten the mounting nuts and bolts. Do not overtighten the belt as this may damage the alternator.
