Every 15,000 km or 12 months.
Note: The new ribbed V-belt fitted to later models cannot be adjusted.
1. Belt tension should be approximately 13.0mm of free movement with thumb pressure in the middle of the longest section between the pulleys.
2. Loosen the mounting bolts securing the block, pull the alternator away from the engine using a wooden lever until the correct tension is achieved. Then tighten the mounting nuts and bolts. Do not overtighten the belt, as this may damage the generator.
