Tools and electrical equipment

1. Check the operation of all devices and electrical equipment.

2. Check that all instrument readings are correct and all electrical equipment is functioning properly.

Steering and suspension

3. Check for faults in the steering and suspension.

4. Drive the vehicle and check that there are no unusual vibrations or noises.

5. Check that the steering is smooth and turns without excessive force.

Chassis

6. Check the operation of the engine and clutch (where applicable), gearboxes/transmissions and drive shafts.

7. Pay attention to any unusual noises from the engine, clutch and gearbox/transmission.

8. Make sure the engine runs smoothly at idle and there is no hesitation when accelerating.

9. Check where applicable that the clutch operates smoothly, the drive is transmitted smoothly and the pedal free play does not exceed that stated in the Specifications. Note any noises produced when the clutch pedal is depressed.

10. On models with a manual transmission, make sure that all mechanisms operate smoothly and without noise.

11. On models with automatic transmission, check that gear changes are smooth, without increasing engine speed between shifts. Make sure that any gear shift mode can be selected with the engine off. If any problems are found, contact your Opel dealer.

12. Listen for a metallic sound while driving the vehicle slowly in a circle with the steering angle at maximum. If a clicking noise is heard, this indicates wear in the drive shaft connection.
