Operating procedure
The Road Sign Detection System is designed to detect certain road signs using a camera located at the front of the vehicle and display information about them on the Driver Information Center. The system can detect the following traffic signs:
- Speed Limit;
- overtaking is prohibited;
- expiration of speed limits;
- expiration of the overtaking ban.
Speed limit signs are displayed on the Driver Information Center when a speed limit sign or expiration sign is detected.
Traffic signs along the way have less priority than speed limit signs. A combination of both characters on the display is possible.
The system is activated when the speedometer reads more than 14 km/h and operates until a speed of approximately 200 km/h is reached, depending on the lighting conditions. At night, the system works if the speed does not exceed 160 km / h. As soon as the speed drops below 55 km/h, the display will be reset and the contents of the traffic signs page will be cleared. The display will show the next recognized speed.
Information display
Road signs are displayed on the page «Road sign detection» in the route/fuel information menu. The choice of signs is carried out by means of the regulator on the combined switch of indexes of turn. If you select another function in the Drivei Information Center menu, after returning to the traffic sign detection page, the last detected traffic sign is displayed.
If the system is disabled, the traffic signs page is cleared. It displays the following notation:
The traffic signs page is also cleared if the driver presses the SET/CLR button on the turn signal lever while driving.
Each menu page displays a speed limit popup.
