Removal and installation the steering rod (Opel Corsa B)

Removal

1. Remove the tie rod end.

2. Disconnect both clamps and remove the casing from the steering rod.

3. Remove the steering rod from the steering gear while holding the toothed rack with a wrench.

Turning out the steering rod

Installation

1. Screw the new steering rod onto the toothed rack and tighten it with force 60 Nm, holding the toothed rack from turning with a wrench.

2. If the grease has been removed from the steering gear, fill it with new grease OPEL 90 018 813 or 19 48 588.

3. Put on the protective cover and secure it with new clamps. The cover must not be deformed. It is recommended to replace the factory-installed clamps with screw clamps.

4. Install the tie rod end (see section Removal and installation the steering rod end).
