Replacing the oil pan gasket (Opel Frontera B)

Warning: Do not remove the oil pan while the transmission is hot.

Removal

Place a suitable container to collect the drained transmission oil.

Remove the plug (arrow) and drain the transmission fluid from the gearbox.



Remove 16 bolts and oil pan (2) from gearbox housing.



Clean the inside of the oil pan and magnet (3).

Clean the mating surface (1) of the oil pan and gearbox housing.

Installation

Make sure the magnet (3) is installed in the oil pan.

Install the oil pan (2) with a new gasket (1) and secure it with bolts to the gearbox housing, tightening them to a torque of 12 Nm.

Replace the transmission fluid drain plug and tighten to 25 Nm.

Fill the transmission with transmission fluid and check its level (see the relevant chapter).
