Gearbox operating mode switch (Opel Frontera B)

Removal

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Set the selector lever to position N.

Remove the cover (5) from the gearbox mode switch.



Loosen the nut securing the lever (4) to the gearbox mode switch.

Remove the bracket (1) with the gearbox control cable.

Disconnect the connector (3) from the gearbox mode switch and remove the bracket (2) from the gearbox housing.

Unscrew the bolts (1 and 2) and remove the gearbox mode switch.

Installation

Install the gearbox mode switch and secure with bolts (1 and 2), tightening them to a torque of 13 Nm.



Adjust the position of the transmission mode switch (see the relevant chapter).



Connect the connector (3) of the gearbox mode switch and secure it to the bracket (2) of the gearbox housing.



Install the bracket (1) with the gearbox control cable.

Install the lever (4) on the gearbox mode switch and secure it with the nut, tightening it to a torque of 23 Nm.

Install the gearbox mode switch housing (5).

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
