Replacing the hinge flange gasket (Opel Vectra A)

There is a hinge flange between the inlet pipe and the additional muffler pipe.

Raise the vehicle and place it on supports.



Loosen the bolts securing the additional muffler or catalytic converter to the intake pipe at the hinge flange. Pull the additional muffler or catalytic converter back slightly, allowing access to the gasket.



Remove the old gasket, clean the mating surfaces.

Lay a new gasket. Connect the intake pipe to the additional muffler at the hinge flange. Tighten the fastening with new bolts to a torque of 12 Nm, having previously coated their threads with a special paste to facilitate future disassembly.
