Replace a defective joint housing immediately. To replace the housing, remove the cardan shaft. If dirt has gotten into the grease, wash the joint and lubricate it with special grease. Defective balls in the bearing are detected by noise and knocking when the load changes. In this case, the joint should be replaced.
Removal
Remove the drive shaft, see item 12.5.
Cut the clamp off the hinge housing.
Unscrew the hinge casing.

Use pliers to loosen the retaining ring on the outer or inner hinge.
Knock the joint out of the toothed connection with the shaft using a plastic hammer.

Installation
Before installation, check the protective cover. Replace a defective cover in any case. If both covers need to be updated, always remove only one joint. Thoroughly clean the joint from old grease and lubricate the joint cavity well with new grease (ET-No 1941521/90094176).
Use a new retaining ring. It should fit freely in its groove.
Place the casing on the shaft.
The location of the inner hinge on the long side of the shaft, size A-135 mm for fastening the hinge housings. The outer hinge on the short side of the shaft.

Hammer the hinge with a plastic hammer until it touches the locking ring on the shaft gear. Install the hinge housing, lift the housing with a screwdriver and release air from it.

Tighten the clamp with clamp pliers.
Caution: The housing must not rotate around the drive shaft. Install the drive shaft, see item 12.5.
