Checking the shock absorber (Opel Kadett D)

The shock absorber is checked manually.

Stretch and remove the shock absorber.

The shock absorber should be evenly and easily removed along the entire length of the piston stroke and return to its original position easily.

A faulty shock absorber can also be identified by the noise it makes while driving.

If the shock absorber is functioning perfectly, small traces of oil are not a reason to replace it.

If significant oil leakage occurs from the shock absorber, it should be replaced.
