Removal

1. Mark the position of the front wheels in relation to their hubs so that the balanced wheel can be installed in its original position. Remove the wheel mounting bolts with the car on the ground. Jack up the front of the car, place it on stands and remove the front wheels.

2. If equipped, disconnect the electrical wiring from the ABS sensor.

3. Support the front suspension wishbone to prevent the drive shaft from dropping downwards after the shock absorber strut is removed.

4. Remove the bolts (1) securing the shock absorber assembly to the steering knuckle.

Installation

1. Insert the shock absorber strut from below and tighten it by hand with two new self-locking nuts and washers.

2. Secure the shock absorber assembly to the steering knuckle. Be sure to use new bolts and self-locking nuts. Insert the bolts from the back to the front, looking in the direction of travel of the car. Tighten the nuts in four stages: first - with force 50 Nm, then with effort 90 Nm, then tighten the nuts to the angle 45 degrees and finally tighten the nuts one more angle 15 degrees.

3. Tighten both mounting nuts on the shock absorber support with force 30 Nm.

4. Install the front wheels so that the previously applied marks coincide. Lower the car to the ground and tighten the wheel mounting bolts with force 110 Nm.
