Cars since 1995 are equipped with an airbag, the handling of which requires certain knowledge.
Vehicles up to the end of 1997 release
Removing
1. Remove the cover with the horn button in the center of the steering wheel.
2. Mark with paint the mutual position of the steering wheel hub and steering shaft in order to install them in their original position during assembly.
3. Loosen the steering wheel nut and remove the lock washer. To do this, hold the steering wheel by the hub.
4. Remove the steering wheel with a puller. The handlebar hub has two holes into which the puller screws are threaded, as shown.
5. The horn contact ring on the back of the steering wheel can be replaced.
Installation
The steering wheel is installed in the reverse order of removal. The wheel hub must be aligned with the markings on the steering shaft made during removal. The steering wheel nut is tightened to 35 Nm.
Finally, check that the steering wheel is correctly installed as described above.

Removing
Attention! It is recommended that the removal of the steering wheel in the presence of an airbag be carried out in a car workshop. Withdrawal
1. Remove the airbag as described below.
2. If there is no airbag, remove the cover in the center of the steering wheel. To do this, unscrew the bolt shown by the arrow.
3. Mark the mutual position of the hub and the steering shaft and unscrew the fastening nut. Hold the steering wheel by the hub while doing this.
4. Disconnect the plug connection of the cable harness.
Installation
The steering wheel is installed in the reverse order of removal. If an airbag is fitted, the following safety instructions must be observed. The steering wheel nut is tightened to 35 Nm. In this case, the wheel must be held by the spoke from turning. Don't forget to connect the plug connection. In conclusion, check the correct position of the steering wheel and the operation of the sound signal.
